Desi Bartlett
Desi Bartlett has been teaching fitness classes for over 16 years. Her innovative approach to teaching is to encourage students to tap into their inner joy and let the movement be its outward expression.
Desi has an undergraduate degree in kinesiology, with a minor in dance, and a master's degree in corporate fitness. She holds advanced certifications in yoga, personal training, and group fitness. She is also a continuing education provider through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the National Council for Personal Trainers. Originally from Chicago, Desi now lives in Southern California.
Hemalayaa
Hemalayaa teaches yoga and Indian dance in Los Angeles and also offers frequent workshops in Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto as well as retreats in some of the world’s most stunning settings.
The daughter of Indian parents, Hema’s yoga training began at home at an early age. Her first teacher was her father. She went on to study yoga, philosophy, and meditation as well as asana. Hema’s in-depth study and practice of classical Indian dance informs how she teaches yoga.
A life devoted to yoga and dance animates Hemalayaa’s playful spirit. Many of her retreats and workshops culminate in a night of dance. Hema loves turning her students on to the vibrant styles of Indian dance, from the classical to the latest moves from Bollywood, bhangra, and Indian MTV.
Petra Kolber
IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year, ECA World Fitness Presenter of the Year, Reebok Fitness Athlete, and star of over ten fitness DVD programs, Petra Kolber is a world-renowned fitness expert best known for her creativity and commonsense approach to fitness.
Violet Zaki
Originally from "Down Under," though a New Yorker of many years now, Violet has grown to excel at numerous roles within the fitness profession, while still striving to expand her expertise. Early on she became a Certified Fitness Instructor and a Black Belt in Karate, achieving recognition and success as a competitive contact fighter, both nationally and internationally. Her professional group fitness work started in Australia and blossomed in New York, progressing from an eight-year stint as a volunteer instructor at the YMCA to a top draw for several years running at, arguably, the city’s premier club, Equinox Fitness, with stays at Reebok and Crunch Fitness along the way.
She is a Master Trainer under the Powerstrike and Body Bar programs, and an International Fitness Presenter, while her class repertoire includes a body of self-developed, signature workouts. Violet has also logged many hours as a private trainer during this time, specializing in efficient, dynamically challenging routines requiring little to no equipment. As a featured star trainer, her video/DVD titles continues to expand: Crunch Fitness Cardiosculpt, Self Magazine’s Your Best Butt Fast and Firm Flat Abs Fast, Push TV’s Cardio Combat, Trainer’s Edge Killer Kicks, and, most recently, Exercise TV’s Star Trainer Series (Cardio Kick Butt, ABsession, Strength Zone…with more to come!) and Self Magazine’s Sculpt Sexy Legs Fast. In addition, she has appeared and/or contributed to several fitness magazines and on various television shows, including the CBS Early Show as weekly fitness correspondent and Home Shopping Network as a featured fitness expert. |
